Sarah H. Kramer, Ph.D, LLC.
I typically see adults, adolescents, and older children, with a focus (not exclusive) on teenagers and young adults. When working with children or teens, involvement of the parents is extremely beneficial. A wide variety of presenting problems can be addressed, but I do not treat autism spectrum or eating disorders, substance abuse/addiction issues, or perform couples therapy.
I am experienced in the use of cognitive-behavioral approaches, parent training, emotion-focused, in-depth individual therapy and other modalities, depending on the client's needs and desires. For all ages, I utilize web-based activities when appropriate and often assign written and/or behavioral activities to perform between sessions. This is needed to reinforce new brain pathways that we attempt to establish during therapy. We will work together on a treatment plan that is specific and achievable.
As I am building my practice in McKinney, I am in-network for the following insurance companies:
For all other insurances, I would be considered out of network. You may still file yourself (with a form I am happy to provide) to obtain partial reimbursement, typically ranging from 40-60% of their allowable charge. For clients transitioning out of United Health Care-related plans, I will file insurance for you if desired, and you will receive a check from the company for whatever portion of benefits your plan allows.

I am a native of Wichita Falls, Texas , where I was a National Merit Scholar at Wichita Falls High School. I later was awarded the Bachelor of Arts degree (major in Psychology, minor in English) from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. After a year of working in Boston at a teaching hospital for Harvard psychiatric residents, I was privileged to attend Harvard University, earning an Ed.M in Counseling and Consulting Psychology in 1978. My M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Clinical Psychology were granted by Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. I have been a fully licensed psychologist in Alabama and now Texas for 28 years. I have worked almost exclusively in either group private practices (composed of multiple kinds of providers such as psychiatrists, psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Licensed Professional Counselors) or in solo private practice, as I am today.
I am married and have two adult step-sons and four step-grandchildren. as well as a red-headed, dynamic nephew. Although he lives on the East Coast currently, we are pleased to say that he is a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys and plays football for his school.
